As our Ecological Restoration Manager, you'll have the unique chance to lead impactful projects that restore degraded landscapes across Western Australia. You'll manage and execute our planting schedules, work closely with volunteers, and collaborate with Indigenous communities, all while enjoying the autonomy to shape the future of our environment.

About the role

In this role, you won't just manage sites; you'll inspire change. You'll be the face of our mission, leading the charge in advocating for a greener, healthier world. Whether you're educating volunteers, speaking publicly about our work, or developing restoration plans, your efforts will directly contribute to building sustainable communities and landscapes.

Examples of some tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and maintain existing planting sites; negotiate new sites; and prepare restoration plans
  • Plan and coordinate all required site preparation prior to planting events
  • Coordinate ordering with the Nursery Manager with regards to required seedlings
  • Supervise small teams of volunteers, contractors and employees conducting restoration work
  • Develop and maintain budgets for restoration projects
  • Develop relationships with Indigenous peoples including Aboriginal Elders, to progress Trillion Trees’ goal to be guided by the ethos of Aboriginal natural resource management

About you

If you have a background in environmental science, a love for Western Australia's unique flora, and a desire to make a tangible difference, we want to hear from you. The role is best suited to a confident and social individual who is passionate about environmental solutions for climate change and ecological restoration and working with the community. This is a key role in the organisation and in many ways is the face of our charity and its mission.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor of Environmental Science or similar
  • Experience in either natural resource management, ecological restoration, conservation management and/or landcare
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage team
  • Experience in managing contracts and contractors
  • Developing and managing operational budgets
