About the opportunity

  • This part-time fixed-term position is located at the Mercy Hospital for Women, Social Work Department.
  • This position encompasses a clinical caseload within the maternity stream (which may include inpatients, outpatients and Emergency Department), clinical supervision of Grade 1 Social Workers and Social Work students as well as some programmatic responsibilities delegated by the Manager
  • This position will form part of an integral multi-disciplinary team and will be required to provide highly responsive and flexible services to consumers whilst upholding a high level of professionalism and practicing the core values of Mercy Health
  • This role will encourage best practice philosophy amongst staff and will be expected to demonstrate an advanced skill set

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work with a minimum of 2 years' experience and eligibility for membership to the AASW
  • Sound knowledge of current evidence-based practices and commitment to continuing professional development and research
  • Prior hospital experience and/or working in women and children's services is highly desirable
  • Adaptive, creative with a passion for patient focused care

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
