Position Overview

We are seeking a Principal Relationship Manager (PRM) to play a critical role in driving organisational growth by expanding major donor funding. The PRM will be responsible for building and maintaining deep, long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, selected corporate foundations, and corporations.

This role will also involve collaborating closely with other Major Donor team members to ensure alignment of strategies across all donor segments. There is expected travel in this role, with 60% being conducted outside the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Donor Management & Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture relationships with donors, engaging in frequent interactions to deeply understand their needs and motivations. Conduct up to 10 strategic meetings monthly with assigned donors and prospects to deepen relationships and secure support.
  • Personalised Donor Engagement: Develop and manage contact plans for major donors, proactively addressing their needs with a strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Donor Research & Prospecting: Identify new major donor prospects, leveraging analytical skills to recognise potential opportunities and challenges early.
  • Stewardship Management: Oversee stewardship plans for each donor, ensuring timely and professional follow-up reports on the impact made.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records via CRM, ensuring all data is timely and accurate. Prepare and manage an annual expense budget, submitting all required documentation promptly.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Proactively identify and act on opportunities that may not be immediately apparent, support colleagues, and commit to continuous learning and development.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience working with high-net-worth individuals or a track record in stewarding key donor accounts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Confident in attending high-net-worth events and skilled at networking at that level.
  • An independent contributor who can display leadership and collaborate across multi-functional team.
  • Proven ability to influence donor decisions and manage complex relationships.
