Your new role

The Environmental sustainability project manager will partner with the organisation to build an overarching framework supporting our goal to reduce our impact on the environment and help minimise the carbon footprint of our worksites. The framework will support the identification and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives across Merri projects, programs and operations.

In this role you will establish and oversee an internal organisational committee supporting teams to incorporate sustainability practices into all phases of the asset lifecycle and client journey achieving improved outcomes aligned with Merri’s strategic directions.

You will be responsible for

• An environmental impact audit, assessing our baseline and identifying areas for improvement
• Develop a framework and action plan outlining our commitment to environmentally sustainable practices
• Establish an internal committee to provide a consultation structure overseeing the success of operationalising the new framework
• Support and advise on environmental sustainability issues to assist the implementation of the Environmental Sustainability Policy
• Develop sustainability capabilities and knowledge sharing across the organisation
• Identify measurable sustainability targets and develop a monitoring and reporting structure
• Develop and facilitate programs to enhance energy, water, waste conservation and securing grants for such programs
• Enhance Merri’s reputation as an active participate in the fight against climate change

To succeed in this role you will have

You will be an experienced professional with considerable knowledge and experience in environmental sustainability and project management. Having the ability to work collaboratively with employees across the organisation and building overall capacity.
Experience in developing impact reporting to capture and report environmental sustainability performance data (energy, waste, water).
