In this new established position, we are seeking a Communications Specialist to craft compelling content that will raise our profile, increase awareness of our programs, and support the strategic priorities of Mental Health First Aid. This role will support the development and delivery of MHFAI’s communications strategies by delivering on content creation, media outreach, campaigns, and event coordination. This role will be suited to a talented communications specialist with a flair for storytelling, fostering engagement, and creating impactful brand messages.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Working closely with the Communications Manager, support the development and execution of the MHFAI communications plan.
Creating engaging, high-quality content tailored for various audiences, formats and platforms.
Coordinating media engagement efforts, drafting press releases, monitoring media coverage, and reporting on media activities to maximise exposure and impact.
Coordinating the preparation of profile-building organisational content, including annual reports, opinion pieces, thought leadership articles and briefing documents.
Developing messaging and materials for internal stakeholders, key partners, industry bodies, and advocacy groups to enhance partnerships and collaborations.
Develop speaking notes, presentation materials, event communications to ensure effective delivery of MHFAI’s messaging.
You will have:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in strategic communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement
Successfully developed and implemented communications plans
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
A team player with proven experience working in fast paced, goals focused environment
A collaborative mindset, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to track, evaluate, and optimise media, content and campaign performance
Commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and socially responsible and ethical communications practices.
