About the role

We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in clinical governance and Quality Management to implement NSQDMHS and ISO 9001:2015 accreditation standards. The Head of Quality is responsible for every aspect of external accreditation alongside the development of internal accreditation programs that will further elevate the quality and standards of our organisation and education programs. An innovative thinker, the successful candidate will work collaboratively cross-functionally at all levels, fostering a continuous improvement culture across the organisation. The ability to provide clear direction and oversight to ensure quality programs are effectively and consistently applied is essential.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Coordinating the compliance requirements necessary to ensure that every aspect of external accreditation processes meet regulatory requirements and internal standards for excellence. Ensuring Mental Health First Aid courses align with international health, education, and professional accreditation bodies.
  • Ensuring all Mental Health First Aid offerings are subject to continuous improvement activities.
  • Establish a process so that regular audits, reviews, and assessments are conducted to maintain fidelity to Mental Health First Aid International’s curriculum, teaching methods, and safety guidelines.
  • Ensuring rigorous instructor training and accreditation standards are maintained.
  • Oversee the accreditation process for global partners, instructors, and training organisations.

About you

  • With a demonstrated commitment to lived experience in service design and delivery, you will have:
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • More than 15 years’ experience in clinical leadership, leading large and complex multidisciplinary health teams.
  • Experience in the delivery of training, education and continuous professional development services.
  • Deep understanding of clinical governance and experience continuously improving service delivery to meet the needs of consumers.
  • Experience working effectively with senior management and executive directors.
  • Understanding of the Australian mental health and suicide prevention sectors and international trends and issues.
