MHPN works to strengthen the existing primary health workforce to improve referral pathways and practitioner expertise through the promotion of interdisciplinary practice and collaborative care.
MHPN engages general practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses (both mental health and general), social workers, occupational therapists, counsellors and a range of related health practitioners working in primary care, in public and private settings and in communities across Australia.
MHPN provides a platform to promote interdisciplinary practice, through three interrelated programs:
MHPN is funded by the Federal Department of Health and Aged Care.
This position is part-time (0.6 - 0.8 negotiable) with a hybrid working arrangement (50% of time is to be spent at the MHPN Head Office, Level 6, 257 Collins St, Melbourne). The role manages seven direct reports.
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the networks program, including:
To be successful in this role you will have well-developed interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate previous experience managing a team. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, along with the proven ability to work to project deadlines will be required. Tertiary qualifications in a health, mental health or relevant management discipline essential. See the Position Description for all required key skills and experienced.
