About the Role:

As a People and Learning Officer, you will be an integral part of the People and Learning team, supporting various HR administrative tasks. A key part of your role will be managing and maintaining the HRIS system (ELMO), ensuring accurate records, data entry, and reporting. You’ll also assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and other HR administrative processes.

This is a full-time, in-office position based at our West End location with conditions and salary at Level 4 of the SCHADS Award. The role requires working five days a week in the office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update the HRIS system (ELMO), ensuring accurate employee records and data entry.
  • Provide administrative support for HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee changes, and maintaining employee entitlements.
  • Assist with the review of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with HR and organisational requirements.
  • Support HR projects by assisting with data analysis, reporting, and other administrative tasks.
  • Facilitate small group activities, when required, and assist with general administrative tasks.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of employee records and information.
  • Assist with the implementation of new systems, policies, and processes in HR administration.
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive workplace, adhering to Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A relevant certificate, diploma, or tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in business or HR.
  • Experience with administration systems; knowledge of HRIS (such as ELMO) is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain HR-related information clearly.
  • A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite, and experience managing HR software systems.
  • A commitment to cultural diversity and a strong understanding of equity and WHS principles.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience in the social and community services sector.
