Job Description

The Women and Girls’ Health Hub is funded by Queensland Health to offer services to all women and girls with a focus on priority communities of women and girls who experience worse long-term health outcomes than the general population, due to significant barriers that impact these communities such as lack of culturally safe and appropriate health care. The Hub will offer a mix of medical, nursing, counselling, and social services. True Relationships and Reproductive Health and Women’s Health and Equality Queensland will also be offering services from the Hub.

The Women's Service Coordinator will work within the Women and Girls' Health Hub in Caboolture, providing expert consultation, support, and guidance to workers across the Hub. This role focuses on child protection and Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) issues, coordinating and supervising outreach and center-based support and advocacy workers. The Coordinator will empower women, girls, and families to achieve greater access to services and safety through a trauma-informed and person-centered approach.

This is a permanent full time role with conditions and salary at Level 7 of the SCHADS Award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation and advice on child protection and DFV cases.
  • Support the implementation of policies and procedures, particularly the Supporting the Safety and Wellbeing of Children's Procedure.
  • Plan and supervise outreach and center-based support workers.
  • Conduct holistic assessments and develop person-centered support plans.
  • Empower women and girls to participate in decision-making processes and access resources.
  • Advocate for women and girls to ensure access to relevant support services.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated service delivery.
  • Build team capacity through ongoing consultation, training, and professional development.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in the human services field with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Understanding of issues faced by women and girls.
  • Ability to provide information, referral services, and participate in group work.
  • Commitment to social justice and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication and advocacy skills.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to child and vulnerable adult safeguarding principles.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including CSNet, Best Practice, and Microsoft products.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work flexibly and proactively in a team environment.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Post-graduate qualification in nursing or relevant specialty (e.g., women's health, drug and alcohol, mental health).
  • Experience providing services to people experiencing homelessness or those vulnerably housed.
