Job Description

The Women and Girls’ Health Hub is funded by Queensland Health to offer services to all women and girls with a focus on priority communities of women and girls who experience worse long-term health outcomes than the general population, due to significant barriers that impact these communities such as lack of culturally safe and appropriate health care. The Hub will offer a mix of medical, nursing, counselling, and social services. True Relationships and Reproductive Health and Women’s Health and Equality Queensland will also be offering services from the Hub.

The Women’s Wellbeing Worker will be responsible for supporting women and girls through direct service and administrative tasks. This role involves providing a warm and welcoming environment, assisting with reception duties, making appointments, and offering administrative support. The Worker will also support in the preparation and facilitation of peer-led activities aimed at enhancing the mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing of participants.

There are currently 2 roles available, 1 x full time, 1 x 0.6fte with conditions and salary at Level 3 of the SCHADS Award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Support: Provide a non-judgmental environment, assist with intake processes, and offer emotional support and referrals.
  • Reception & Administrative Duties: Manage phone calls, emails, appointments, and maintain accurate client records.
  • Practice Clinical and Business Operations: Oversee pathology courier pick-ups, maintain clinical supplies, and engage in team meetings and training.
  • Peer Activity Support: Assist in preparing and facilitating peer and group activities.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work cohesively with team members and maintain effective communication with participants.
  • Quality Improvement and Reporting: Contribute to quality improvement activities and monitor data for reporting.

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant certificate or diploma qualification and extensive experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in administration and/or reception role, specifically within a medical practice.
  • Knowledge of office procedures, Medicare billing, and Best Practice patient management system.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to child and vulnerable adult safeguarding principles.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work flexibly in a team environment.
