MiCare works with new migrants coming into Australia and aims to provide them with meaningful skills and connections. MiCare is a medium sized not-for-profit organisation and provides a range of community, home based and residential services for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees of all ages. These include children and youth services, capacity building together with social and family supports, aged care and retirement living.

In serving people from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds we proudly respect their language, culture and history which is reflected in the staff and Board members we recruit as well as our business policies and practices.

The organisation was formed in the early 1970s and has grown to employing more than 800 employees across the different services we provide. We furthermore manage over 500 volunteers. Our employees and volunteers combined speak over 40 different languages.

Board renewal has been prioritised to accommodate the resignation of long-term Directors as well the identified skills sets required in the Board to continue to successfully govern the organisation. We are specifically looking for a Certified CPA or Chartered Accountant to complement our existing Board members.

Growth oriented and commercially savvy Directors are being sought. As is common within the non-profit sector, MiCare Directors will be expected to commit time to the organisation’s governance, create new networks and provide active support to MiCare’s management team within their domain of professional experience.
