Lived Experience Practice Coach

Skylight is recruiting a Lived Experience Practice Coach at 0.6 FTE and classified as SCHADS Level 5. The Lived Experience Practice Coach will work across Skylight metropolitan locations. Days and hours to be agreed.

This role supports the implementation and development of lived experience practice, supporting Skylight management to promote continuous improvement and strengthen/guide workforce practices.

The applicant with have demonstrated understanding of the principles and techniques for ensuring meaningful, power-sharing participation of people with lived experience in co-design, service delivery, policy, and advocacy, with a focus on intersectionality and accessibility.

About Skylight

Skylight Programs deliver a range of recovery-oriented community mental health services by working alongside people experiencing mental illness, family and friends who care for them, and the broader general South Australian community.

Skylight services are developed with input from participants to ensure responsive, effective services that build on strengths, increase resilience and improve mental health.

Essential Requirements

  • A personal lived experience of mental health concerns, or of caring for someone with mental health concerns, with the demonstrated ability to reflect on and apply this experience in a leadership, advisory, and advocacy capacity
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification, or at least 2 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in developing, embedding, and supporting lived experience practice within organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience applying trauma-informed and recovery-oriented principles to support safe, meaningful, and empowering engagement with people with lived experience.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills including the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with team members.
