Disability Support Worker

Milparinka

ABOUT YOUR ORGANISATION

Milparinka is a community organisation providing tailored supports for people with disabilities across Victoria. We focus on community, home and living, coordination, and centre-based supports for nearly 200 individuals. Our priority is service quality and meaningful connections over business growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Disability Support Worker role at Milparinka exists to help individuals with intellectual disabilities lead independent, meaningful lives. This role is all about providing the right support to empower people to achieve their personal goals, whether that's in a group setting at our day services or through one-on-one support in the community.

You’ll be there to encourage, support, and help navigate daily activities that improve quality of life. From assisting with social and recreational activities to helping people develop important life skills, your work will make a tangible difference. You’ll also be involved in supporting individuals to manage their NDIS goals, making sure they’re not just meeting their needs but also enjoying new opportunities for growth and participation in the community.

At the heart of this role is connection – both with the people you support and the community you’re a part of. By working closely with individuals and their families, you’ll help build bridges for inclusion and independence. You’ll be a key part of a dynamic, values-driven team that is committed to fostering a positive and welcoming environment for everyone we support.

This role isn’t just about helping people get through their day – it’s about creating lasting, positive changes in people’s lives, enabling them to live with dignity, respect, and the freedom to pursue their goals. If you’re passionate about making a real difference and working in a collaborative environment, this role is for you!

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives. If you enjoy working with others, are compassionate, adaptable, and excited to be part of a values-driven team, this role could be the perfect fit for you.

Ideally, you’ll have at least 12 months of experience in a disability support role, but if you’re newer to the field, that’s okay too. We believe that the right attitude and a willingness to learn are just as important. What matters most is that you’re enthusiastic about supporting people with disabilities and committed to creating positive change.

In terms of qualifications, we require you to have a current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or be willing to apply), a valid Australian driver’s licence, and access to a vehicle. It’s also preferred if you’ve completed, or are working towards, a qualification in disability or a related field.

What really sets you apart is your approach to people. We’re looking for someone who is patient, understanding, and able to work with individuals at their own pace. You’ll have strong communication skills, as you’ll be building relationships with the individuals we support, their families, and your team members. Most importantly, you’ll need to be flexible and proactive, adapting to the ever-changing needs and interests of the people we support.

If you’re ready to bring your skills, heart, and dedication to this role, we’d love to hear from you
