About the role

The Community Care Worker role works under regular supervision to provide high quality and safe services to NDIS participants in line with the NDIS code of conduct, Mind’s model of Recovery Oriented Practice and according to the values of Mind. In a Supported Independent Living (SIL) setting, this includes activities of daily living in a person centred, active support model which ensures the right support at the time.

Duties

  • Assisting with daily living activities
  • Fostering independent living skills
  • Supporting skill development for social engagement and community participation
  • Supporting with problem solving and emotional regulation
  • Working with families and carers

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary Qualifications (minimum Cert III in Community Services, Disability, Mental Health or other health related field as designated by Mind)
  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a person centred team
  • Understanding working in a recovery orientated framework
  • The desire to uphold the rights of people living with disability
  • NDIS Code of Conduct Training Certificate (desirable)
