Mind is opening a Supported Independent Living (SIL) Haven in Geelong!

About the role

Mind operates Supported Independent Living (SIL) for people with severe and enduring psychosocial disability. Geelong will accommodate 16 residents and the team will support them across a 24 hours / 7 days per week roster, the Team Leader will work Monday to Friday.

  • You will support the Service Manager in coaching and developing a passionate team of Mental Health Support Workers / Peer Practitioners to deliver quality recovery oriented services.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the service and liaise with families, carers and providers within the community.
  • The Team Leader provides strong leadership to the team, manages and coordinates team operations on a day to day basis, and ensures the smooth running of the service through the efficient allocation of tasks and resources on a day to day basis.
  • Services operate in the context of the local community, with a focus on supporting people to achieve their better life goals and daily living skills.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental ill health issues, complex needs, and with their families and carers.
  • Support and work effectively with clinical services
  • Effectively lead, coach and develop a team to achieve service delivery outcomes
  • Ability to provide professional supervision.
  • A track record in successful relationship development and coordinating strategic partnerships.

What are we looking for?

  • Awareness and understanding of the NDIS and local community services networks and supports
  • Ability to build and lead a positive team culture that focuses on meeting the customer’s goals using evidence informed practice
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field as designated by Mind
