About the role 

We are seeking a high performing, experienced Development Manager for a permanent full time opportunity in the Burnley area. You will support delivery of crucial facilities and project management services to support a mental health services provider.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Property, Development & Establishment, the Development Manager provides dedicated support and subject matter expertise in the management of Mind’s Property Development and Service Establishment functions. This role will oversee relevant development projects related to the delivery of planning, permitting, construction, and implementation of property.  

The Property Development & Establishment Business Unit delivers efficient and timely property procurement, development and establishment services that support the strategic planning objectives and ensures Mind meets all statutory obligations in respect of asset management. This includes capital works, lease procurement and negotiation, property development and service establishment.  

Key responsibilities 

  • Direct the development and implementation of project plans, in conjunction with Operations, to identify, fit out and commission new facilities to support Mind program requirements.
  • Manage projects including all documentation and construction of upgrades to existing facilities, build or fit out of new premises, plant and equipment to meet industry benchmarks and best practice outcomes.
  • Identify potential properties and undertake negotiations regarding lease terms, renewals and vacates as required.
  • Oversee the development, monitoring and reviewing of all project related contracts and subcontractors to ensure compliance to contract specifications and all relevant legislation, codes and Mind policies.

 What you’ll bring 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Building, Construction, Property, Project Management or a related field as designated by Mind
  • Extensive project management experience delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Experience in asset planning, management and reporting
  • Experience providing advice and guidance on a range of property and investment matters
  • Proven track record in successful relationship development and management and strategic partnerships
