About the role

The Graduate Program Lead – Community Mental Health, will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing the Graduate program for Mind-led Locals. The Graduate program facilitates entry into the mental health sector for graduates, so they are supported through a structured workplace learning program to develop the skills required for a successful career.

We are seeking a self—motivated individual for this 12-month fixed term, part time (22.8 hours per week) opportunity located in the Bendigo and Echuca area. The role will act as the direct line manager for the Graduates and provide a safe and supportive learning environment, supervision, mentorship and opportunities for reflective practice throughout their employment period.

Key responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Service Operations Managers and other stakeholders to develop a Graduate Learning Program.
  • Develop and implement relevant training programs to educate and strengthen workforce and participant capability.
  • Build relationships with education and training providers and support services hosting Interns.
  • Support Graduates to develop individual learning plans that focus on their required knowledge, skills and abilities to work effectively in the mental health and wellbeing system.
  • Work collaboratively with all areas of the business to ensure the organisation’s objectives are met.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind.
  • Proven experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare or Government sectors
  • Experience in leadership and capability to coach, mentor and develop a team to achieve best quality service outcomes including experience in the provision of professional supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and influence peers, stakeholders and government agencies with diplomacy to achieve effective outcomes.
  • An demonstrated understanding of program development and design.
