About the role

The Haven Foundation (THF) and the Haven Foundation Australia Limited (THFAL) are controlled entities of Mind Australia Limited. The Haven Foundation, a community housing provider, builds social housing specially designed for people living with complex mental ill health and psychosocial disability. Support services within the Haven residences are provided by Mind Australia (Parent Company) and funded through the NDIS with an emphasis on building skills to live independently with a focus on mental health recovery.

We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Manager, Housing & Tenancies for a permanent, full time opportunity to work at our Central Office in the Burnley area. Managing a team of Tenancy Officers, you will be responsible for leading and providing tenancy management services including supporting a portfolio of clients with mental ill health, monitoring lease agreements, managing rent collection and overseeing residential properties.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver tenancy management services including rental collection, monitoring rental arrears, lease agreements, rent reviews, rental inspections, tenancy exits and property management and maintenance.
  • Support the Executive Director to design, develop, implement and drive the tenancy management function in line with business objectives.
  • Implementing policies and procedures, and creating systems to ensure services are financially viable and sustainable.
  • Adhere to tenancy acts and consult with stakeholders and residents to resolve issues, manage property defects and respond to complaints.
  • Collaborate with the Occupancy Management team and stakeholders to provide safe, sustainable housing to meet client’s recovery goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Business Management, Property Management, Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other related field.
  • Proven understanding of NDIS, Community Services, Mental Health, Social Housing, Healthcare or Government sectors is essential.
  • Strong tenancy management experience and expertise working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Ability to effectively build, lead and coach a team to achieve high quality service outcomes, meet client needs and deliver on performance targets.
  • Successful track record in relationship development, stakeholder management and strategic partnerships.
