About the role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Service Manager for a fixed-term, part time (19 hours/week) opportunity in the Caboolture area. In this role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of program operations, ensuring a high standard of service delivery aligned with Mind’s Model of Recovery-Oriented Practice and organisational values, supporting young people experiencing psychosocial disability. The Service Manager will also be responsible for staff management and achievement of service performance and budget targets.

About the service

The Sub-Acute Short Stay Youth Step-Up Step-Down (YSUSD) Residential Service supports young people with a psychosocial disability in transitioning from a hospital setting back into the community or in preventing hospital admissions. Offering 24/7 support for up to 28 days, young people work towards achieving their recovery goals, strengthening relationships with families and carers, developing community networks, and building confidence and capacity to live safely in the community. YSUSD operates within a recovery-focused, clinical treatment framework, providing personalised one-on-one support, shared supports, and group activities tailored to the client’s strengths and goals as identified in their recovery plan.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the program to ensure the service is operating efficiently and effectively.
• Lead and manage services to clients, carers and families as defined in the Model of Recovery Oriented Practice and related guidelines to ensure that individually tailored services for clients and their family and carers are provided to the highest standard.
• Oversee, coach and model a targeted, integrated and individualised responses to clients through flexible, person-centred active supports.
• Build and lead a high-performance team through engaging the team, setting clear direction and fostering team engagement
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including communities, service providers, partners, government agencies, and others.

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
• Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and their families and carers, alongside strong knowledge of mental health service delivery, service development, financial management, budget control, and reporting.
• Proven leadership skills with the capability to coach, mentor, and develop a team to achieve high-quality service outcomes.
