  • Salary: $96,340.87 Full Time Salary Package (Non-PBI Equivalent) + Super - incudes
    • Base Pay: $87,339.20
    • Up to $6,385.95 in tax-savings via our offered charity salary packaging.
    • $2,615.72 allowances and cash benefits
    • + $10,044.01 Super (11.5%)

Minus18 is Australia’s charity improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth. We support LGBTQIA+ young people through events and digital platforms, and provide fee for service LGBTQIA+ inclusion training to schools, businesses and community organisations. Since 2011 over 100,000 young people have engaged in these services across Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, and millions more via digital platforms.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Digital Marketing Specialist will lead the implementation of our marketing strategy, across areas including eDM, ads, campaigns and website.

Working within the Marketing team this Specialist ensures alignment with Minus18’s brand and visual identity across our digital channels, while leading the delivery of engaging content to further our reach, engagement and impact across our youth programs, and activating our allies and champions across key moments like IDAHOBIT & Trans Awareness Week.

Other responsibilities of this role extend across supporting creation of marketing materials, community moderation, monitoring performance through analytics and performance data, continual optimisation of our campaigns and strategies to achieve our goals and maximise engagement.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY

  • Lead the implementation strategy for Minus18 Social Media and EDM messaging for key audiences and platforms, spanning all teams at Minus18.
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing Team on the overall year-long and month-by-month strategy and schedule of marketing messages and priorities.
  • Driving growth across all Minus18 social media platforms and program KPIs, including relevant registrations, website traffic, toolkit downloads, sales and enquiries
  • Work with the Partnerships Team and external stakeholders to assist with partnerships content and promotion
  • Contribute to the Strategy & lead the implementation of a Social Content Strategy with Marketing team for key audiences and key platforms across all teams Minus18
  • Engaging with external creators including influencers, ambassadors and artists for the creation of content
  • Contribute to content creation and social media delivery as needed, including graphic design and video content.
  • Contribute to the community moderation of our social platforms and support lead on delivery as required
  • Attend reporting meetings in supporting the marketing functions of the business.
  • Attending priority Youth events to support in marketing priorities where needed
  • Collaborate on the ongoing documentation of Marketing Team processes, procedures, and style guides.
  • Contribute to delivery of paid ads content according to agreed-upon paid marketing strategy.

ELECTRONIC DIRECT MAIL (EDM)

  • Implementation and delivery of eDM strategy across all audience segments.
  • Implementation of user journeys across audiences during campaigns
  • Writing of content for multiple audiences: youth, adults, schools, workplaces, donors
  • Using analytics to devise improvements and strategies for growth
  • Grow and develop current EDMs to ensure alignment with industry standards and practices

WEBSITE CONTENT

  • Apply purpose driven and action oriented copywriting to assist in the development and creation of written content for Minus18 websites across various audiences
  • Implementation of SEO best practices
  • Support in the implementation and delivery of content style guides and documentation.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of Minus18 & IDAHOBIT websites via updates to pages, program reports, youth directory submissions, and ad hoc changes & improvements to drive engagement.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

The ideal candidate has:

  • Previous experience in a similar position within a Marketing function or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing digital marketing strategies for campaigns, social media and B2B & B2C marketing.
  • Proficiency in Creation Tools, CMS, Social Media, EDM & Paid Ad Platforms (i.e. Buffer, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, Adobe Creative Suite etc)
  • Experience writing for SEO is desirable
  • Strong lived experience and understanding of diverse identities within the LGBTQIA+ community (including but not limited to trans, gender diverse, and/or people of colour).
  • Demonstrated passion for Minus18’s mission to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • A successful Police Background Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC) are required for this role. These can be obtained once an offer of employment is made and before role commencement.
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status.
