Your Opportunity

Provide evidence-based psychosocial counselling and support to our clients within the Common Ground AOD Hub. The role will provide individual and group interventions to facilitate recovery and rehabilitation from problematic drug and alcohol use.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide individual and group counselling support to our in-house clients, outreach and tele health support as required
  • Develop and implement drug education and psychoeducation to meet the needs of clients
  • Provide assessment and case management advice as on when required
  • Actively participate in regular supervision sessions complete assessments and psychometric tools as required
  • Manage all individualised consumer files and ensure all internal and external paperwork are completed accurately
  • Support the program manager with the evaluations and participate in development and implementation of continuous quality improvement

Requirements for Success

  • Degree or Diploma in counselling with relevant experience and/or relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of mental health issues and/or AOD services
  • Proven ability to work with agencies including complex case management
  • Has a sound understanding of Mission Australia's values and code of conduct
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including highly developed administrative skills

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, referee checks, and WWCC.
