Are you ready to play a key role in driving financial decision-making across a purpose-driven organisation? As the Finance Business Partner at Mission Australia, you will be the finance representative for the organisation, supporting senior management and key stakeholders with financial matters. Your insights and guidance will help the business make informed, strategic decisions by providing accurate and timely financial information.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure accurate month-end financial results for allocated states and service streams, addressing any necessary corrections.
  • Analyse financial performance, explain variances, and summarise results against budget/forecast, highlighting KPI progress.
  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders to discuss financial outcomes, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Lead and support the budgeting and forecasting process, developing models, and improving forecasting methodologies.
  • Provide commercial analytical support for tender bids and evaluate new initiatives, ensuring understanding of financial impacts such as ROI and cash flow.
  • Review program performance, drive financial literacy within the organisation, and contribute to special projects as needed.
  • Ad hoc projects, as required.

Requirements for Success

  • Chartered Accountant, CPA, or other recognised finance or business qualification.
  • Degree and/or Masters in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
  • At least 5 years of commercial and financial experience, managing and delivering financial goals across diversified areas, including revenue-generating business units, IT, and Property Expenditure.
  • Strong commercial acumen with high analytical ability and practical business knowledge.
  • Effective communication and active listening skills, with the ability to present information and decisions confidently, clearly, and concisely.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, handle ambiguity and complexity, and problem-solve in a timely manner.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
