Your Opportunity

Mission Australia are excited to be opening a residential alcohol and other drugs (AOD) program in Batemans Bay. The Wallawanni Residential Rehabilitation Service is located on 17 acres of bushland surrounded by stunning beaches and Nationals Parks, see here: -Property Presentation.pdf

Specialising in treating clients with co-morbid substance dependence and mental illness, the 10-bed program works with young people aged between 16 and 24 years. The treatment model is a 12-week holistic psychosocial rehabilitation program based on harm minimisation and health promotion. This 12-week program is followed up with 6 months community aftercare.

We are now recruiting for an experienced Program Manager who will oversee the operation of the Vocational Training and Education, Residential and Sport and Recreation Programs.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead a medium sized multi-disciplinary team in delivering this service
  • Coordinate the roster of employees ensuring the service is appropriately staffed
  • Act as an escalation point, on call for the service to ensure issues are resolved quickly
  • Oversee the Program and ensure efficient provision and support for young people
  • Support young people to engage in the program and to make progress
  • Provide supervision and support to the team and address any areas of development
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with relevant funding agreements
  • Monitor service delivery and assist Area Manager in ongoing development of service
  • Undertake recruitment and selection of new and replacement staff
  • Complete a range of Budget, WHS and compliance administration duties

Requirements for Success:

  • Relevant qualification (community services, case management, youth work etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in youth work and/or case management
  • Extensive knowledge of issues pertaining to Drug and Alcohol abuse
  • Current NSW Drivers’ license
  • Evidence of Covid 19 Vaccination
