Your Opportunity

Are you a skilled tender, bid, or grant writer looking to make a meaningful impact? Join Mission Australia as a Business Development Officer, where you will play a vital role in securing national, state, and local funding to support our life-changing programs. In this role, you'll be responsible for crafting high-quality government tenders and proactive funding proposals that drive our growth across Community Services, Housing, and other key areas.

Collaborating with subject matter experts, you'll manage the entire bid process, conduct market research, and ensure submissions meet the highest standards. With several exciting positions available at different levels of seniority, this is a unique opportunity to take your career to the next level and contribute to real, transformative change.

If you're passionate about converting funding opportunities into impactful solutions, we invite you to join our team and help make a lasting difference in the communities we serve.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Thoroughly analyse all tender specifications and understand funder objectives and drivers.
  • Collaborate with leaders from Community Services, Housing, and other divisions to prepare bid content, create project plans, and mitigate risks.
  • Write compelling tenders, grants, and proposals that meet high standards and adhere to funder requirements and Mission Australia's style guide.
  • Maintain and manage systems, processes, CRMs, and Microsoft Teams sites to support efficient bid development.
  • Coordinate input from internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and service delivery teams, for comprehensive submissions.
  • Conduct research, gather evidence, and use data to support service models and enhance tender and proposal quality.

Requirements for Success:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in tender, bid and/or grant writing.
  • Experience in Community Services or Community Housing sectors (preferred).
  • Qualification in relevant discipline (preferred).
  • Strong writing, editing, analytical thinking, and project management skills, with a proven track record of successful tender submissions.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong time management, organisational skills, and initiative in overseeing tenders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong personal alignment with Mission Australia's values and culture.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
