About the role

This key management role will develop and implement the most relevant and up to date strategies that will enhance the overall image of MNDSA. Increased brand awareness will allow for improved partnerships, philanthropic support, fundraising success and a stronger identity within the MND community and wider general public.

The Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager will manage their team to achieve the strategic and operational goals of fundraising programs, including but not limited to; grant proposals, major donor, corporates, bequests and community fundraising. These all play a major role in educating all relevant stakeholders about MNDSA’s ‘story’ and how best to communicate it and why MNDSA require the support of others.

The Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager will also play a key role in harnessing and nurturing the relationships with existing and new corporate and philanthropic supporters. This could be clients, fundraisers, donors, sponsors, volunteers, ambassadors, advocates, and anyone else who supports the work of MNDSA.

The Association’s major events and campaigns, as well as community fundraising events make up a major portion of the Association’s yearly income. Bequests and Major Gifts can make a considerable difference.

The Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager will play a lead role in working with all relevant parties to ensure the supporter experience is of the best quality and funds raised grow.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop and implement strong and detailed strategies to enhance MNDSA’s profile and brand which is vital to ensure the Association can raise enough funds to continue to provide its Client Services and programs
  • Implement and manage fundraising campaigns, events and programs
  • Implement and manage digital marketing strategies to enhance the results of all fundraising activities, increase MNDSA’s profile and continue raising awareness of MND and the services provided by the Association
  • Actively participate in a team focused approach to the provision of Supporter Development Services and the on-going sustainability of the organisation

Key Selection Criteria

Essential for this role:

  • Qualification in Fundraising, Communications, Marketing, PR or a related field and 5+ years’ experience in a relevant role
  • Demonstrated significant strategic level experience in the initiation, development, and growth of either philanthropy or corporate partnerships.
  • Proven track record in forecasting, developing, and implementing engagement plans.
  • Sound management experience and a track record creating constructive team cultures and developing talent.
  • Excellent high-level communication and negotiation skills and experience in requesting and gaining support.
  • Enjoy working under pressure.
  • Exhibit high levels of emotional maturity and compassion.
  • Experience in developing and implementing communications plans across a range of media, preferably in a not-for-profit and fundraising environment
  • Ability to network, build and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Computer literacy and graphic design skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal interpersonal and communications skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated negotiation and creative problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience working in the non-profit sector
