Our Journey - NW2 and the Aged & Rehabilitation Division at the Kingston Centre

North West 2 is a 32 bed unit specialising in Neurosciences Rehabilitation. The Unit operates within an interdisciplinary model of care with an approach to care that is goal orientated and individualised to achieve the best outcome for patients. We strive to put patient at the centre of our care as well as supporting the teams need for growth, guidance and job satisfaction.

A Day in the Life

You’ll enjoy the variety and challenge that comes from leading an amazing and skilled staff and leadership team who all work as clinical mentors. Ours is a highly connected team with strong shared values and a commitment to excellence. The Nurse Manager position is integral to the delivery of an interdisciplinary model of care ensuring delivery of outstanding care and outcomes as well as financial accountability. The Unit manager supports the clinical roles of their Associate Manager Leadership team, ensuring that the daily functioning and management of the ward is achieved. You will do this while promoting an active partnership with patients, their carers and families to ensure safe and effective patient centred care.

This is a Full Time Ongoing opportunity working Monday to Friday.

You are a born leader, with a positive attitude who loves to laugh and enjoys being at work with likeminded nurses. You share this passion for nursing through demonstrating your skill and knowledge whilst role modelling to the team.

You will have previous Nurse Manager experience, ideally within in a SubAcute/Rehabilitation or Neuroscience setting.You also will need to demonstrate:

  • A commitment to safe practice, utilising a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards.
  • Skills in leading the planning, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of care at a consistently high standard.
  • Work collaboratively with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to achieve goals and health outcomes
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with health professionals, support staff and other stakeholders, both internal and external to Monash Health.
  • Consistently role model Nursing and leadership excellence, demonstrating your commitment to patient and family centred care and best practice standards.
  • The ability to lead and motivate a team to work effectively together in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent organisational skills, time management, analytical and problem solving skills.
