About Ward 34 (Nephrology and Gastroenterology) at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton
Ward 34 is a 40-bed unit providing care to patients with renal and gastroenterology conditions. As one of the largest renal units in Australia, we specialise in transplantation, dialysis and end stage renal failure management. We are one of only two hospitals in the country to care for patients receiving simultaneous pancreas and kidney transplants. We are also dedicated to caring for patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract including the liver and pancreas. We work closely alongside a number of wards both within the hospital and on other Monash Health campuses that form the Monash Health Nephrology/Gastroenterology department.
We now have a number of opportunities for dedicated, compassionate Registered and Endorsed Enrolled nurses to join our fast-paced unit.
These positions provide genuine opportunities to make your mark in renal and gastroenterology nursing. We provide significant education and professional development in this specialty area and if you're successful in your application, we can consider both full time or part time hours (within reason). We have both permanent and fixed term roles available, all working acros a seven day rotating roster, all shifts.
Our great nursing team provides broad and specialised care for nephrology patients with acute, chronic and end stage renal failure, kidney and pancreatic transplants and dialysis. We also care for patients with disorders of the GI tract who may require various endoscopic radiological interventions.
Education is an important aspect on our ward, and we'll ensure you receive the support and assistance you need to feel totally capable of managing the patients you will be caring for.
You are a genuinely passionate and caring person who is highly committed to delivering exceptional care within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You have amazing interpersonal skills that make you a clear communicator and influencer, while having the ability to build rapport with others, working well within a multidisciplinary team.
Significant experience in Renal and/or Gastroenterology Nursing and recent acute experience a distinct advantage and a Graduate Certificate in Renal Nursing is highly regarded.
