The Role

As our Volunteer Social Media Coordinator, you will take the lead in developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with our brand and raises awareness of the vital work we do to help women recover from domestic abuse and break intergenerational cycles of violence. You’ll be responsible for creating engaging content, including graphics and reels, managing our three key social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Linked In), and analysing performance metrics to optimise our online presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & Execute Strategy: Create and implement a results-driven social media strategy tailored to our fundraising and community engagement objectives.
  • Content Creation: Design visually stunning graphics, craft compelling captions and narratives, and produce high-quality reels/videos for various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Social Media Management: Maintain an active presence across all platforms by scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and staying on top of news and advocacy.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Monitor performance metrics (engagement rates, reach, impressions) and provide actionable insights to improve results.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all content aligns with our brand voice, tone, and visual identity.
  • Trend Spotting: Stay ahead of social media trends, where appropriate, to keep our content fresh and relevant.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in social media management and content creation.
  • Strong graphic design skills (experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator).
  • Video editing skills for creating reels and short-form video content.
  • Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to craft engaging captions.
  • A deep understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to 5-10 hours per week on a consistent basis for regular posts and engagement.
  • And of course, a passion for our mission to reset and rebuild lives.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience in paid social media advertising campaigns.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles as they relate to social media.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana).
