Suitably Qualified and/or Experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People are Strongly Encouraged to Apply.
MoneyMob Talkabout is a not-for-profit organisation providing a range of community services and programs in the APY Lands in northern South Australia, and in Alice Springs. We have remote offices in the communities of Ernabella (Pukatja) and Amata and Mimili, and provide outreach services to other Anangu communities. We are a values and evidence driven for-purpose organisation.
Our vision: Aboriginal people and communities are empowered to achieve economic wellbeing and self-determination. In this, Aboriginal people are equal partners in and co-creators of our practice.
At MoneyMob, you won't be bored. We're always learning, and we want you to as well. We work hard, but care about each other. Our culture is informal but smart; we value transparency, accountability, self-awareness and a thoughtful approach.
Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, this is a hands-on role that will see you responsible for the smooth running of the Pukatja office and training and ongoing support of local office staff.
The MoneyMob office is a critical resource to Anangu in the Pukatja community as a hub from accessing mail, banking, Centrelink, financial counselling and other services.
This position is essential to the daily operation of these services and ensuring that the office is a safe and comfortable space for people to come to. The role embodies the essence of our vision and values to empower Aboriginal people; both our clients and co-workers by sharing knowledge, developing skills and building independence for people to interact with institutions and agencies autonomously.
To be successful in this role you will be a hands on and supportive leader, with demonstrated experience in training, supporting and motivating a small team to achieve high performance results. Specific experience leading Indigenous team members would be highly regarded.
You will need a background in Administration or Office Management, with a qualification or relevant experience in Community Services . You'll also need well-developed organisational and communication skills, with the confidence and resilience to live and work in a remote community and build relationships with individuals.
Experience working in remote areas and in a cross-cultural context is very important. You will be living in a remote location, supporting individuals in sometimes extreme or confronting conditions. You'll be reliable, hard working, highly empathetic, and culturally competent; able to understand the needs and concerns of the communities involved and have the communication and interpersonal skills needed to adapt your approach to each individual.
You will bring an open-minded, community-focused approach, and be able to juggle the needs of multiple stakeholders, adapting to any changes or unforeseen issues that may occur. You'll also be highly organised, with great time management skills and the ability to both competently use and train local staff in the use of computers, software packages and the internet.
Finally, you will be genuinely passionate about achieving positive outcomes for the communities that MoneyMob supports.
This is an incredible opportunity to bring your skills to a passionate not-for-profit organisation supporting some of the most remote communities in Australia.
In return for your hard work and dedication, you will receive an attractive remuneration circa $68,000 to $73,000 pro rata, plus super and salary sacrificing options to increase your take-home pay.
You will be welcomed into a friendly and passionate team, with comprehensive training and support from colleagues and management.
