  • Sought after Executive role in a Far East Gippsland Aboriginal Organisation. 

The Moogji Board of Directors is looking for a new CEO. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Organisation including all aspects of the day-to-day operations and the management of staff, to ensure viability and the delivery of quality, culturally appropriate care, programs, and services.

This position will have overall responsibility for the management and reporting of the organisation, both to the funding bodies and to the Board of Directors.

The Board of Moogji are looking for someone who has prior experience at executive leadership as well as the core skills required to ensure success. These include: 

  • Leadership, management, and governance experience ideally suited within an Aboriginal Organisation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • A very good understanding of working with indigenous communities or in a cross-cultural context. 
  • Sound governance experience.
  • Financial literacy and commercial acumen. 
  • An empowering and supportive leadership style.
  • Community and stakeholder engagement. 
  • High level communication skills and ability to build highly respectful relationships; and
  • An outcome focussed approach. 

About Moogji Aboriginal Council:

Moogji Aboriginal Council is based in Orbost, in Far East Gippsland. There are approximately 40 staff over two sites in Orbost. Moogji is a Not-for-Profit organisation delivering services in Health with weekly clinics, as well as Community Health and Wellbeing programs in areas of Youth, Education, Alcohol and Drugs. Moogji also operates a rural property delivering Environmental contracts and Cultural services.

Moogji Aboriginal Council is a growing organisation in a beautiful part of East Gippsland with strong linkages to the Far East Gippsland community. Moogji has a commitment to support local Aboriginal people with work and training opportunities as well as with health and social support services. 

Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged, but this is not an identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander appointment.

Remuneration:

This is initially a THREE (3) year appointment with options to extend (subject to funding and a six-month probation). A suitable package will be negotiated for the successful applicant.
