Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Recovery Support Officer to assist in the ongoing recovery efforts following the October 2022 Maribyrnong River flood. Reporting to the Community Recovery Officer, this role will play a crucial part in working with affected communities to identify their recovery needs, develop and deliver local programs, and provide leadership in building community resilience. You will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful recovery initiatives, ensuring that flood-impacted residents receive the necessary support to rebuild and prepare for future disasters.
Ideal candidate will have experience in emergency management, community recovery, or related disciplines including community development with a strong focus on working with vulnerable clients and communities. You should be skilled in building collaborative relationships, communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders, and delivering community-centred initiatives.

Experience in event planning and program delivery, particularly in the context of disaster recovery, is highly desirable.
