The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Early Childhood Teacher, with service and staff management experience to join our Team.

This role supports multiple sites across the region and would suit an ECT that is looking for a role which encompasses both hands on teaching and multi-site leadership.

As Kindergarten Team Leader / Educational Leader you will be responsible for leading, supervising, and guiding Kindergarten programs and staff at nominated services. In the Early Childhood Teacher component of the role, you will be teaching one group of 4-Year-old Kindergarten at a dedicated service. In this role you will be the Nominated Supervisor, ensuring the delivery of a quality inclusive play-based emergent programs, reflecting the philosophy, policies and procedures of Moonee Valley Early Years Services.

In addition to leading and supervising our Kindergarten Teachers, Co-Educators, Students and Volunteers, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Implement and ensure compliance with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) into the program to ensure alignment with the requirements of the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.
  • Manage centre administration requirements inclusive of correspondence, communication, distribution of information in collaboration with the Regional Team Leader and Senior Co-ordinator Early Years Services.
  • Undertake the Educational Leader role at the 2 nominated kindergartens.
  • Ability to mentor staff and be a positive role model within Early Years Services and across Council.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), or other relevant approved ACECQA qualification;
  • A current Victorian Institute of Teachers registration (VIT) with Exemplary status (highly desirable);
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the legislative requirements, regulations and developmental frameworks within the early childhood sector, such as the National and State Early Years Learning Frameworks;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising and mentoring staff within the Early Years Sector;
  • Current Working with Children's Check, First Aid Level 2, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management Certificates.
