TAC L2P Volunteer Mentor

Moonee Valley City Council
  • Help learner drivers between 16 and 21 years of age to gain their probationary license.

About the program

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) L2P Program is a community-based program developed to assist eligible young Victorian learner drivers between the ages of 16 and 21 years (and in some circumstances, up to 23 years) who do not have access to a supervising driver, or an appropriate vehicle and so, are unable to gain driving experience required for a probationary license. Our council is funded by TAC to deliver this program in Moonee Valley.

As an L2P Volunteer Mentor, you'll be trained and supported to provide supervised practice for young learners, helping them to develop the skills to drive safely and achieve their license. A driver's license gives young people greater independence, more job opportunities and easier access to education and social connection.

About the role

If you are a confident, safe driver and want to make a positive difference to the life of a young person, this could be the perfect role for you.

Volunteer Mentors serve as supervising drivers. Each mentor is matched with a young learner driver and supports this learner to gain the driving experience needed to develop safe driving skills and prepare for their driving test.

Please view the attached position description for full details including the requirements for this role and volunteer support provided.
