About the Role

This position will provide critical operational, safety and emergency management support to the Destinations team, at a time when a significant event is occurring at the Briars. The incumbent’s core focus will be on the visitor experience and will include managing projects, liaising with maintenance contract managers, and undertaking tasks to ensure landscapes, visitor infrastructure and the event site is safe and meets the aesthetic standards of the site.

The incumbent will foster a strong culture, with a focus on supporting the wellbeing of the team through compassionate, supportive, and professional behaviour and bringing humour and fun to the role.

This position will require you to work weekends and late shifts (up to 12 am) to support major event delivery.

Reporting to the Manager – Destination, Recreation and Community Connection the core responsibilities include:

  • Take a visitor-focused approach to all work, understanding the core purpose of the Briars is to welcome visitors and connect them to the natural, cultural and heritage values of each site.
  • Provide operational support to the delivery of the major event by working evening shifts, undertaking site patrols, taking sound readings, completing small maintenance tasks, and answering visitor enquiries.
  • Provide maintenance and animal husbandry care to the Briars farm animals.
  • Assist with gardening and landscape maintenance.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in related areas such as project management or trade level qualification within the construction sector.
  • Experience in engaging and working with stakeholders including community and industry partners.
  • Experience coordinating internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects including contractors and internal teams.
  • Confident in using the Microsoft Office suite of programs for reporting, measuring and tracking data and developing presentations or reports.
  • Desirable – experience delivering operational works within a visitor experience, event, environmental and/or cultural heritage context.
