About the Role

Reporting to the Community Animal Shelter & Pound Operations Supervisor- the core responsibilities include:

  • Daily feeding, watering and inspection of all animals
  • Cleaning of pens and waste disposal in accordance with the Code of Practice
  • Enrichment of all housed animals
  • Basic administrative skills – Knowledge of operational systems including Shelter Buddy
  • Transportation of animals
  • Contribute to the overall running of the Shelter & Pound
  • Assist with community engagement programs such as school tours & work experience students

About You

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and experienced person interested in caring for animals, with genuine affection for cats, dogs, livestock and pocket pets. Additionally, you will have:

  • Minimum Qualifications Cert III in Animal Studies
  • Industry experience relating to the care, cleaning, feeding, enrichment and hygiene of domestic animals and livestock.
  • Current drivers’ licence and Police and Working with Children Check a must
  • A good communicator and positive person who enjoys teamwork
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment & carry out tasks in required timeframes
