Mossman Support Services (MSS) is a not-for-profit regional community organisation providing services, programs and activities for people in the Douglas Shire. The staff and volunteers of MSS strive to build a community that cares and supports the vulnerable and disadvantaged, by providing services for those in need. We work to remove barriers to opportunity and social inclusion and improve the quality of life for individuals in our community.

We have a holistic, person-centred approach to caring for individuals that enables us to deliver services that provide effective solutions to each person based on their individual needs. We respond to individual circumstance and engage service users in their support planning to enable positive outcomes to be achieved.

We are seeking a Manager (30hrs/week) who will:

• Inspire, motivate and provide leadership to all sectors of the organisation
• Commit and contribute to organisational as well as team objectives
• Take responsibility for their own and others’ performance, development and safety
• Apply superior communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Manage corporate risk, strategic and business plans and budgets effectively
• Identify and submit grants and tenders to advance the organisation
• Have some experience of working in an NFP, including experience in in fulfilling legal compliance.
• Have demonstrable knowledge of the NDIS procedures
• Experience in writing contractual agreements
• Have experience in staff recruitment, supervision and appraisal procedures

The successful applicant will have proven experience managing a community service and the ability to participate across more than 6 departments- including NDIS, Youth, Community Connect Worker, Community Development, Intensive Family Support and Finance.
