We're looking for someone who has experience working in acute clinical, maternity or reproductive and sexual health environments, but who is ready to take a break from shift work and provide empathetic phone support and clinical assessment to our patients. This is an office based role and will be located at our Head Office in central Melbourne.

We are the only national accredited provider of abortion, contraception and vasectomy services, and the country’s longest running provider of teleabortion. Your purpose:
- Assess patients over the phone for eligibility for our telehealth service, and for complications post procedure
- Review pathology and radiology reports autonomously and action according to relevant policies and procedures
- Manage patients with complex care needs such as: situational stress, financial difficulties, chronic medical conditions, CALD background.
- Provide sexual and reproductive health information and advice to patients over the phone who have not yet accessed a service
- Support our Quality & Safety program by participating in all clinical quality initiatives and projects
- Maintain your clinical competencies by completing mandatory training requirements
- Assist with emergency care (referrals, transfers, liasing with other providers)
- Manage and co-ordinate care and services via telecommunication
What we need:
- A Pro-Choice Advocate
- A Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with an AHPRA registration
- With 3 years acute clinical experience
- Excellent communication skills written, in person and by phone
- High level assessment skills
- Pre-Care – case managing later gestations with complex needs ensuring personal goals are met
- Tele abortion care including a multidisciplinary team working cohesively to ensure personal goals are met
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) and the ability to learn new software
- Active and reflective listening skills with an understanding of how to provide empathetic care
- Knowledge of National Accreditation Standards and ACORN standards
What we'd like to see (but aren't essential):
- Experience in women’s, reproductive and sexual health
- Maternity experience
- Experience in termination of pregnancy – medical, surgical and 2nd trimester (up to 24 weeks)
- Telephone triage or assessment experience
- Experience working autonomously (doctor on call)
- Experience working in a computer-based (paperless) environment
- Strong basic word processing and spreadsheet skills
- Ability to type and talk at the same time
- Ultrasound and pathology interpretation skills
