About Us

Murraylands Training and Employment (mteSA) is a leading not-for-profit Group Training Organisation (GTO), dedicated to training, recruitment, and workforce development. Since 1997, we have supported over 4,000 apprentices, trainees, and labour hire workers across South Australia.

mteSA has a particularly rich history within the Adelaide Hills and Murraylands and remains passionate about the importance of these regions to the future of South Australia.

Governed by a skills-based Board comprising of seven members, mteSA operates within a strong framework of governance and regulatory compliance to create lasting community impact.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Non-Executive Director to join our Board. As a forward-thinking leader, you will help guide mteSA’s strategic direction, ensuring we continue to support workforce development and employment pathways throughout our community.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates who:

• Have prior Board and/or Committee experience
• Sound understanding of Governance and risk management (e.g., AICD)
• Bring strong commercial acumen and strategic oversight
• Are natural networkers with valuable stakeholder connections
• Are passionate about driving business growth and community impact

Applicants with skills or experience within the any or all the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:

• Legal and/or commercial skills and expertise
• Risk management and compliance
• Marketing and communications

Board Member Responsibilities

• Guide and oversee mteSA’s strategic direction
• Ensure governance, compliance, financial, and legal sustainability
• Identify and manage risks effectively
• Participate in monthly Board and committee meetings
