ABOUT MOONEE VALLEY LEGAL SERVICE

The Moonee Valley Legal Service Inc (MVLS) is a not-for-profit organisation which commenced operation in 1985 (previously known as Essendon Community Legal Centre). The centre is a not-for-profit community service managed by a volunteer Board of Management funded primarily by the Commonwealth and State Governments through the CLSP Program.

MVLS provides free legal advice, assistance and referrals to people who live, work or study within the City of Moonee Valley catchment, as well as free community legal education to organisations, services and the wider community.

Our main office is in Ascot Vale at the Wingate Avenue Community Centre. We run outreaches on the Flemington public housing estate, at Moonee Valley Libraries, Cooper Street Community Centre Essendon, cohealth older persons public housing, Wintringham community housing, and Travancore Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC).

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the service. They demonstrate leadership by working collaboratively with the Board of Management, staff, volunteers, stakeholders and community to establish, implement, and oversee the goals, vision and values of Moonee Valley Legal Service.

We are seeking a leader who is passionate about social justice and working with the community to achieve equity and empowerment.

You are highly organised, have outstanding communication skills, and are experienced in all aspects of organisational management including human resources, finance, compliance, risk, communication, reporting and quality improvement.
