About the Role
The Outreach and FDV Support Manager leads and coordinates outreach services and family violence support across MWRC’s Strengthening Families Team. You will manage a multidisciplinary team delivering culturally appropriate, trauma-informed services to Aboriginal women and children.
This full-time, Fitzroy-based position will suit someone with strong leadership skills, experience working in FDV and remote contexts, and a deep commitment to social justice and culturally responsive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Outreach Support Workers and Specialist Caseworkers
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to staff
- Oversee outreach and FDV service delivery, case planning, referrals, and triage
- Develop culturally safe engagement strategies with communities and Elders
- Monitor compliance, evaluate program impact, and report to funding bodies
- Contribute to systemic advocacy and policy input
- Represent MWRC at events and interagency forums
A Typical Day Might Include:
- Meeting with team members for supervision and planning
- Coordinating referrals from police, hospitals, or shelter services
- Developing a culturally grounded safety plan with a woman in community
- Working on a report to inform local advocacy or funding submissions
- Attending a community event to build trust and awareness
- Collaborating with other program areas to ensure holistic care
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Community Services, or equivalent experience
- Experience in FDV, trauma, outreach, or homelessness support
- Demonstrated team leadership within a strengths-based and trauma-informed framework
- Knowledge of Aboriginal cultural values and experience working in remote Indigenous communities (preferred)
- Calm, confident, and resilient in high-pressure situations
- Skilled communicator and deep listener
- Committed to healing-informed, decolonising practice
- Current WA Driver’s Licence, WWCC, and National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
