Qualifications & experience

  • Need to be a proficient behaviour support practitioner with a practitioner ID issued from the NDIS quality and safeguard commission
  • Have a relevant allied health professional tertiary degree
  • Have excellent report-writing skills
  • Have excellent computer skills
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • At least one year's experience as a behaviour support practitioner and is willing to learn more
  • Has a passion for the industry
  • Able to work independently, as part of a team and be a leader amongst stakeholders

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Write personalised Comprehensive and Interim Behaviour Support Plans
  • Write Functional Behaviour Assessments
  • Use a range of assessments to assess behaviour and gather collateral information
  • Work with families and supports to better support the participant
  • Adhere to the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission standards and regulations concerning the behaviour support plan
  • Use interpersonal communication skills to build rapport with participants and their families
  • Conduct training and skill-building exercises for the participant and their supports
  • Implement data collection measures
  • Report and document the usage of restrictive practices
  • Case note
