My Place is an organisation that works in partnership with each person with a disability to pursue the lifestyle of their choice and to have their individual needs met by people they choose and trust.

My Place is currently seeking a single female, to move in with and provide live-in support to a person with a disability. While previous experience is not essential , it is highly preferable, as well as a genuine desire to share your life and be prepared to work to make a positive difference by enriching someone else’s life, as well as your own.

The role will involve assisting the consumer with all aspects of day to day life, including personal care, attending medical appointments, shopping, accessing the community and domestic tasks.

My Place will provide any training required as well as ongoing support from one of our Coordinators. Successful applicants will receive training, buddy shifts, supervision and a staged transition to this role.

As a co-resident you will:

  • Share a furnished , modern 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home, rent free.
  • Be paid a salary
  • Provide support mornings , evenings and overnight.
  • Have regular time off negotiated in advance.
  • Have 4 weeks annual leave / year
  • Work closely with this young man’s family and support team.
  • Maintain continuity in his life through effective formal and informal communication.
