The Role
We’re seeking a male Disability Support Worker to provide tailored care for a long-term client with psychosocial challenges.
This position involves a 7-day roster with split shifts. You’ll need to be available for both morning and evening shifts and be flexible to provide coverage during leave periods. You’ll be supported by experienced colleagues who will provide comprehensive training before you start.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a strong, trusting relationship with the client and be dependable in their daily lives.
- Assist with daily living, social engagement, and achieving personal goals.
- Work effectively with children and adults, tailoring support to their unique needs.
- Demonstrate kindness, empathy, and compassion in all interactions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure professional standards of care
What We’re Looking For
- A passion for helping others and a commitment to person-centred care.
- Flexibility to work a 7-day roster, including split shifts, and provide coverage for leave.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant experience or qualifications in disability support or community services (highly regarded).
- Working with Children Check
- A valid driver’s licence and access to an insured, reliable vehicle (essential).
- First Aid Certificate (desirable but not mandatory).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
