National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation

About NACCHO

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 146 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs). These services provide comprehensive primary health care to over half of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationwide, addressing health and wellbeing holistically from community empowerment to individual treatments. NACCHO advocates for ACCHOs by working with governments and stakeholders on healthcare policies, programs, and system reforms. Key focus areas include chronic disease management, preventative health, mental health, social and emotional well-being, and the cultural determinants of health. This is an exciting time for health sector reform, and NACCHO plays a critical role in driving progress, particularly through the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.
