Remote / Work from Home
The Nakau Programme Pty Ltd (Nakau) was established in 2015 as a social purpose Australian company. We work with Indigenous Peoples and customary landowners across the Pacific Islands to develop community-owned carbon projects that support nature, people, culture and climate resilience.
We are a highly adaptive, dynamic organisation suited to people who want to work as part of a small team to make a large impact.
Nakau’s portfolio of projects is growing, and as a Project Manager you will play a key role in the Project Development Team managing projects from inception through to market.
These two roles are ideal for someone with a strong commitment to Indigenous Peoples’ rights, social justice and environmental sustainability who wants to apply their expertise within a social purpose enterprise.
Flexible location anywhere in Australia - ability to work from Lismore (NSW) office preferable but not required.
If this job is for you, you will be excited by the challenge of collaborating with local NGO partners and customary landowners in the Pacific to develop highly technical carbon projects that finance Indigenous-owned forest conservation and restoration.
You will have worked in conservation, the environment or international development projects previously and have a mix of project management, community engagement and technical skills.
Ideally you will bring to this role technical skills in one or more of the following areas: GIS analysis and mapping; ecology; carbon accounting; or social research.
A position description is attached.
