NASCA is a national not-for-profit organisation that has been transforming the lives of thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians since 1995. We engage with First Nations young people to improve school attendance and performance, develop specific career pathways and work-ready skills, build life skills, and strengthen cultural pride and identity.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a refreshed position of ‘Operations Manager’. The role supports the whole organisation and the wider NASCA family of 60+ staff.

We have worked with young Aboriginal people in NSW and the Northern Territory for almost 30 years. Our focus is on increasing school engagement and supporting positive outcomes for young Aboriginal participants in Sydney, regional NSW and Central Desert communities. Partnering with 30 schools, we work in each community delivering hundreds of hours of mentoring, personal development activities, and community events.

About the role

Working closely with the NASCA Executive Leadership Team, the Operations Manager will support NASCA to achieve our strategic objectives, and create positive social impact through effective business processes, resource management, and the development and implementation of efficient compliance processes.

The role is based in Sydney and oversees and manages the operational functions of the organisation including administration, IT, organisational policies and procedures, asset and infrastructure management, WHS and risk assessments, and manages administrative staff.

The Operations Manager's key attributes will include:

  • Qualifications or extensive experience in Business Administration / Operations Management.
  • Experience working in a NFP office operations role, and across functions including administration, facilities, purchasing, accounts payable, IT, and health and safety.
  • Cross-cultural intelligence, including knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ experiences and the challenges faced by First Nations Young People, and the ability to connect with young people.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment juggling multiple projects, shifting deadlines and competing priorities.
