We do this by funding research done by and with people with disability, strengthening disability research capacity and mobilising evidence for action.

  • It is a part time role 0.7 full-time equivalent (up to 26.36 hours per week) with flexible hours

About the role

The Engagement and Events Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the NDRP’s work to strengthen disability research capacity and ensure research evidence is used in policy and practice.

This role will work across the NDRP team, and directly with people with disability, their organisations, researchers, policy makers, and community stakeholders to plan and deliver inclusive, culturally responsive, accessible, and high-impact engagement activities.

Key tasks include (but are not limited to)

  • Coordinating events including planning and delivery, such as online learning events, communities of practice, forums and conferences.
  • Working with team members to prepare agendas, briefings, invitations, registrations, and run sheets.
  • Developing accessible and inclusive materials and supporting the promotion and communication materials for our engagement activities and events.
  • Providing administration and data management support for our external engagement
  • Developing close relationships within the team and with our stakeholders

who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience coordinating inclusive and accessible events or community engagement programs, including managing logistics, communications and accessibility supports.
  • High level administrative and organisational skills
  • Proficiency or experience in Microsoft 365, Zoom, and form/survey tools
  • A good understanding of inclusive and accessible communications for people with disability
  • Experience working with people with disability and understanding of inclusive, accessible and culturally responsive communication practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clearly for a range of audiences.
  • Ability to work under general direction as part of a small team working remotely
  • A commitment to a human rights based approach and the NDRP principles
  • Lived experience of disability would be ideal but isn’t essential
