NBMLHD has an incredible opportunity to work with the ICU Research Team located at Nepean Hospital. This position on offer is for a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 to cover maternity leave in a Temporary Full time role.

This position will see you liaise with principal investigators of research studies involving patients in the ICU, provide extensive review of study feasibility prior to implementation and actively participate in patient recruitment and bedside clinical activities. You will consult with Nurse Managers and Director of Intensive Care Medicine in regard to available logistical support for any proposed study and identify source of funding for any proposed study and provide advice and direction to other members of the research team.

Selection Criteria:

1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
2. Minimum five years full time equivalent post graduate qualification experience and a post graduate qualification in Intensive Care Nursing, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public health organisation..
3. Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice
4. Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
5. Demonstrated Involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence based research, including experience coordinating clinical research.
6. Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning.
7. Proven skills in clinical teaching, the identification of education needs in the clinical area, and competency in the use of contemporary information systems.
