An incredible opportunity is now available to join the team in Palliative and Supportive Care for a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2. On Offer is a Temporary Full time or Part time position until March 2026.

Your role as the Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) is responsible for coordinating a seamless journey for patients and carers within the Supportive and Palliative Care service across the care continuum and throughout NBMLHD. You will collaborate closely with community health teams, general practitioners, hospital teams and the supportive and palliative care service to co-ordinate and deliver end of life care and palliative care for patients/clients and their family/carers across outpatient, inpatient and the home settings.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 is a Registered Nurse who applies a high level of clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skills in providing complex nursing care in Supportive and Palliative Care, with minimum direct supervision.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
  2. Post registration qualifications or at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Palliative Care or other qualifications or equivalent experience.
  3. Commitment to champion, educate and lead a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes as part of a team.
  4. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities according to best practice.
  5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, family/carers and a diverse range of health care providers.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to clinical practice development.
  7. Current Drivers Licence and ability to travel within the LHD in accordance with the position.
