  • Full-Time, Permanent Position
  • Classification: Registered Nurse Level 3 with salary range of $121,247 - $127,866 per annum + Superannuation; Health Professional Level 3 with a salary range of $110,418 - $125,555 per annum + Superannuation

About your new role

As the Clinical Lead, you will lead a team of clinicians and be responsible for providing clinical oversight to the Brisbane South Head to Health Phone Service. This transdisciplinary team includes Intake and Assessment Coordinators (including Lived Experience), Mental Health Clinical Support Coordinators (including mental health registered nurses) and a Peer Practice Lead. You will report to the Service Manager for the Darling Downs West Moreton and Brisbane South Head to Health Intake Assessment and Referral Services.

As Clinical Lead, you will guide the delivery of high-quality mental health intake, assessment, triage, and referral services for individuals in the community who experience mental health issues and are seeking support. A priority of the role is to connect people seamlessly to the most appropriate local service to meet their identified needs, consistent with the 'stepped care' approach. You will be responsible for ensuring continuous care co-ordination between Metro South Health Services as well as other health service providers for consumers experiencing high levels of distress.

The Clinical Lead will have oversight of the Initial Assessment Referral Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST), clinical assessments, collaborative care plan formulation and execution as well as escalation and crisis support protocols.

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven experience at managing clinical teams within the area of mental health service delivery.
  • Demonstrated skill in the application of recovery-based approaches in a clinical setting.
  • Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary (or trans-disciplinary) team with the ability to inspire and facilitate teams toward shared objectives and creating environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of reports with recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to form and nurture partnerships with government and non-government mental health, emergency, and community service providers.
  • Formal tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy
  • Current full registration as Registered Nurse with current annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) essential or
  • Current full registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse with annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) essential, or full registration as a Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
